This role focuses on interpreting ground behavior, identifying risks, and supporting ground control decisions using real-time data.You will work closely with operations and technical teams, while also leading a team of technicians responsible for instrumentation installation, monitoring, and maintenance.Key Responsibilities-Inspect underground development headings and stopes, documenting ground conditions-Review and ensure quality of shotcrete, bolting, grouting, and paste fill-Conduct rock mass classification, structural mapping, and drillhole logging-Perform stability assessments for headings, stopes, and pillars-Support stope design and sequencing decisions-Analyze seismic and microseismic data and assist with re-entry evaluations-Utilize geotechnical software such as Map3D, Dips, Unwedge, and RocLab-Oversee installation and monitoring of instrumentation (LiDAR, piezometers, pressure cells, seismic sensors)-Identify ground hazards and recommend appropriate support strategies-Support rehabilitation of damaged or unstable areasQualifications & Experience-Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field-Eligible for registration with a recognized Professional Engineering body in Canada-5-10 years of underground mining experience, focused on ground control-Experience with seismic or microseismic monitoring systems-Exposure to AutoCAD, Vulcan, or similar mining software is an asset-Strong safety mindset with excellent communication and organizational skillsCompensation and Benefits-Competitive salary ranging from CAD $115,000 to $160,000 per year-Opportunity to work on advanced underground mining operations with a strong focus on geotechnical and seismic monitoring-Career advancement within a well-established and growing mining environment-Exposure to both operational and technical aspects of ground control and rock mechanicsEligibility-Must meet employment eligibility requirements in Canada-Employment is subject to pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and site safety requirementsHow to Apply-Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume for confidential consideration-Only candidates selected for next steps will be contactedVacancy Status-This posting is for an existing vacancyAI Disclosure-We do not use artificial intelligence to screen or select applicants
