The Senior Inspector will be part of the Contract Administration team. You will:
- Complete field inspections including independently performing a broad range of technical inspections in accordance with established standards and regulations
- Conduct inspections of methods and materials used by contractors, while ensuring conformity
- Assess and analyze compliance with contract documents
- Ensure environmental protection measures are installed and functioning
- Complete materials testing including compaction testing, bag and tag materials, and conduct field surveys to verify dimensions and grade
- Accurately record inspection activities in Field Diary, provide continuous evaluation of construction progress, and provide reports to Contract Administrator on construction activity
- Oversee Junior Inspectors and Checkers
- You hold the rcsi (road construction senior inspector) certification with OACETT
- You can travel away from home for extended periods of time
- You enjoy writing reports used by clients

The ideal candidate will have completed a postsecondary program, preferably in Civil Engineering. Additionally, you should have:
- Minimum of 3 previous MTO or Municipal projects inspecting Structures, Grade, and/or Asphalt (5 of each would be an asset), for a field role; or
- Having Senior Office person experience on at least 1 MTO or Municipal roadway project, for an Office Person role in a project field office; and
- High motivation with results-oriented focus
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid Class G driver’s licence and use of a personal vehicle
