We're always searching the globe for innovative, collaborative minds to join our best-in-class Aecon community!What Is The Opportunity?Reporting to the Traffic Manager, the Cad Technician will be responsible for providing geometric design of roads information to all aspects of the construction project with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented.What You'll Do Here:

Completion of design drawings, quantity calculations and as-built drawings for projects within various work types using various software packages (e.g. AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Civil 3D)
Ability to interpret field survey data, coordinate and communicate with field survey crews
Provide calculations and assist with day to day work flows to field staff
Prepare 3D models for use in AutoCAD ACC common data environment.
Maintain accurate survey and drawing records, documentation and submittals, and ability to follow BIM Management procedures.
Project coordination duties including; status updates, and coordination with external stakeholders.
Interpret and adhere to legislative, project and code requirements and client's specifications (e.g. Alberta Transportation Highway Geometric Design Guide)
Conduct QC verification on drawings / designs.

What You Bring to the Team:

3 to 5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience

Post-secondary technical education in Civil/Transportation Engineering, Geomatics or design field, Architectural or equivalent experience
CET certified or CET eligible is an asset
Ability to create 2D/3D Models using CAD software.
Experience with ACC
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software and experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and Menu's
Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment
Experience working with government bodies and familiar with legislative requirements (e.g. Ministry of Transportation, city permit applications)
Strong attention to detail
Collaborating with Designers to ensure accuracy of drawings.
Working with permit drawings and city websites to understand the full scope of the drawing.
Liaises with designers and field staff to problem solve.
Tracking project hours and strategically staying within designated hours.
Performs other duties as required.
