Reporting to the Community Relations Manager in Ontario you will be part of the Community Relations Department. You will be accountable to increase cultural awareness, recruitment and development of Indigenous Peoples, which includes training programs, community relations and consultation support for Macassa. You will ensure that the goals and objectives set out by Agnico Eagle are achieved while monitoring our commitments to our Partner Nations. You will help in promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, our commitments to our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and the environment.Advocate for increased awareness surrounding Indigenous equity and inclusion in operational activitiesSupport, provide and/or monitor delivery and continual improvement of Indigenous awareness training and capacity buildingSupport the identification and development of strategies to address employment barriers forIndigenous PeoplesBuild and maintain relationships with employment and training coordinators from Partner Indigenous NationsLeverage culturally appropriate practices, to help demonstrate employment and/or retention strategiesSupport attendance, wellness monitoring and employee relations as it pertains to personnel retention, family, bereavement and community engagement issuesSupport administrative responsibilities (e.g., note taking) that advance commitments and activities with Partner Indigenous NationsSupport Indigenous talent enrolled in Macassa programs, such as the Underground Mining School and other training opportunitiesSupport the Human Resources team in providing weekly performance updates, recruitment strategies, corrective actions and assistance, interviews and associated follow-upSupport the communication of Indigenous employee progression, promotions and career changes to Partner Indigenous Nations and designated coordinators upon requestOrganize, coordinate and/or attend events and community engagement functions including National Indigenous Peoples Day, National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Nation-specific celebrations, job fairs and other community eventsSupport implementation of commitments with Partner Indigenous Nations in conformity with internal guidelines and key performance indicatorsParticipate in audits that ensure compliance with agreements or standardsSupport the Community Relations team in the achievement of Macassa-specific objectivesQualificationsPost-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, or minimum five years of experience coordinating development programs in the mining or industrial sector, developing and implementing recruitment initiatives, consultation and engagement, and working with Indigenous NationsDemonstrate awareness and understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols, traditions, and practicesKnowledge of Indigenous ways of being, knowing and doing, with a commitment to cultural sensitivity and respect in the workplaceEffective communication skills, including presentations and report writingDemonstrate interpersonal and group relation skills, planning and organizing skills, information gathering and analysis skills, and problem solvingAbility to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive informationExperience developing training budgets and funding requestsExceptional ability to work within a diverse teamMust have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout OntarioAbility and willingness to travel to remote locationsMust wear and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Macassa, which is supplied for the position, in accordance with site policies, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and/or instructed by MacassaExcellent English written and oral communication skills. Bilingualism with French, Cree, Algonquin and/or Anishinaabe consider an assetLived experience and understanding of Indigenous Peoples and Northern Ontario considered an assetExcellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPointYour Work Schedule:Schedule: Monday to Friday – 8:00am – 4:00pm, or as needed within a 40-hour workweek.#LI-AP1
