- Supervision or coordination of intermediate and junior staff conducting field programs to collect and analyze environmental data.
- Management or coordination of long-term monitoring programs.
- Review or coordination of project deliverables: workplans, technical letters, memorandums, reports, drawings, and detailed design packages.
- Review and preparation of project specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates related to remedial options analysis and implementation.
- Development and implementation of technical approaches or solutions as part of project team.
- Performing project supervision, administration, and monitoring, including contract close out and reporting (both office and field duties).
- Technical and quality coordination
- Proposal and scope change preparation
- Scope and budget tracking
- Contract administration including obtaining purchase orders and subcontractor agreements
- Collaborating and coordinate work with peers from the environment business, peers from other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, and sub-consultants
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (Geotechnical, Geology, Environmental Engineering, etc.) + six (6) years of related experience within this field.
- Experience with mining related projects, including historical mine sites.
- Experience with contaminated sites in Nova Scotia.
- Understanding of the Nova Scotia Contaminated Sites Guidelines and associated regulation and protocols.
- Registered, or have the ability to register, with Engineers Nova Scotia as a P.Eng. or Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia as a P.Geo.
- Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (Geotechnical, Geology, Environmental Engineering, etc.) + ten (10) years of related experience within this field.
- Masters in a relevant discipline (Geotechnical, Geology, Environmental Engineering, etc.).
- P.Eng. or P.Geo registered 10+ years of technical experience within environmental engineering.
- Ability to become a registered Contaminated Site Professional with the Province of Nova Scotia.
- Proposal writing, job scoping, project plans.
- Client management skills.
- Willingness to travel to job sites (sometimes remote) on occasion.
- Working in a team setting to meet timelines and quality management.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
