- Creation and/or continuous improvement of company quality standards, methods, and processes.
- Management of SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action) and ICAR (Internal Corrective Action) processes, tracing quality concerns to their root cause and establishing permanent countermeasures
- Active participation in internal quality processes including but not limited to receiving inspection, first article inspection, nonconforming material control, and final inspection.
- Execution of quality system auditing both internally on-site and externally throughout Lanco’s supply base
- Participate in efforts to continuously improve product designs to bolster the achievement of quality expectations and strengthen product performance specifications
- Lead ISO9001 audit preparation among internal departments and foster the proper implementation of ISO9001 principles throughout the company
- Draw insights from the “voices of the customer” reflected in warranty claims and create corrective actions to reduce warranty costs
- Development of quality metrics to reflect business needs and ensure proper allocation of quality control resources
- Effective communication both inter- and intra-company to increase awareness of quality concerns and solicit the support of appropriate resources
- Remain compliant with all regulatory bodies and company policies as they apply to safe, environmentally conscious work practices, eliminating and/or reducing exposure to liability
- Prepares and presents site-based quality reports on a monthly basis
- Mentor and develop junior members of quality team, providing technical and procedural guidance
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field.
- High competency within MS Office suite.
- 3-5 years of applicable work experience.
- Technical literacy to read, interpret, and learn CAD models, engineering drawings/specifications, measuring devices, etc.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products and other data systems
- Requires knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and paint systems
- Detail-oriented with an ability to judge component/assembly conformance to blueprints and other design specifications.
- Ability to observe, audit, document, and continuously improve processes.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and work rules/procedures.
- Competent in the proper selection and application of various measuring devices and equipment
- Ability to monitor and utilize data to define quality performance and direct efforts of internal teams seeking the improvement of quality metrics
- Ability to accept and act upon constructive criticism to prioritize, organize, and solve quality-related problems
- Ability to complete tasks independently, seeking continuous improvement of key metrics without the need for constant direct management
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with site and global functional teams, members of management, suppliers, and other employees.
- This is a production classification, and employees work in a factory or warehouse environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
- Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting, and kneeling for long periods of time.
- May lift parts up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 20 lbs.
