Description :SMS Equipment is growing in Tumbler Ridge, BC. We're hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic, Journeyperson to support mining and construction operations in a remote field environment. This field-based role offers a 14x14 rotational schedule and $58.26/hour compensation. If you’re a skilled troubleshooter with a safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently, we want to hear from you.Wage: $58.26/hr, inclusive of premiums and regional allowance. Additional premiums may be available.

Your Role
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment
  • Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds
  • Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools
  • Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role
What You Bring
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
  • Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Experience working with Komatsu equipment is an asset
  • Interprovincial Red Seal certification is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel
  • Self-motivated and safety-focused with experience working independently in field conditions
