As an Senior Consultant, Application Development you will build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How You'll SucceedProgramming Skills - Develop code and test computer programs for straightforward assignments. Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, and debugging.Systems Implementation - Participate in the technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform application systems.Planning and Coordination - Effectively interact with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, and technical resources to gather requirements and prepare design specifications as instructed by senior team members.Who You AreYou can demonstrate experience with: 6+ years of Java (Java EE/Java SE) development ability. Also, having good knowledge of GoLang would be a strong asset. Ideally you are familiar with Containerization (Docker), Azure Cloud, Kubernetes (or Red Hat OpenShift), Web Services/API, Web Security, Networking and Unix. This role will function as a subject matter expert (SME) to other developers, in addition to hands-on coding. Cross-discipline Application Support of real-time trading and settlement systems. Diagnose Application issues related to DB, Network, OS, HW, Security, and Message Queue/Bus platforms. Knowledge of Industry leading Execution and Order Management Systems (EMS/OMS), and Industry standard FIX message protocol. Advanced knowledge of shell scripting, SQL DDL/DML, and logfile datamining is required to troubleshoot issues and provide tactical solutions.Your influence makes an impact.
