Your RoleAs a Gensler Project Accountant, you will manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects from contract review and billing setup to invoicing, reporting and accounts receivable. You will be successful in this role because you are highly organized, detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring the financial health of projects. Working in close partnership with Design Managers and project teams, you will help ensure our work is not only exceptional in design, but also financially sound.What You Will DoReview project contracts and establish appropriate billing terms and invoice formatsInterpret financial data in contracts and billings and accurately convey themCollaborate with Design Managers, Clients, and Consultants to discuss billing or financial issuesPrepare and process invoices in accordance with contractual terms and monthly accounting deadlinesManage sub-consultant Purchase Orders and invoicing through CoupaRetrieve and match reimbursables expenses to invoices where necessaryFollow-up with Clients on Accounts ReceivableMaintain and monitor project-specific budgets, backlog and financial reports to ensure project financial health.Meet regularly with Design Managers and Studio Directors to review billing, unbilled labor and collection mattersPrepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accountsDevelop an understanding of the firm’s accounting software so that you are seen as an expert and a resource to staffCross-train and work closely with team members so that we function as a cohesive and high performing teamAssist the team with any ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as neededYour Qualifications5+ years’ experience in Project Accounting and Sales LedgerAssociate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or similarHighly organized, detail oriented with a high level of accuracyExperience of dealing with international currencies, exchange rates and understanding of VATExperience in Architectural and Engineering industry or a professional services firm preferredWell written with excellent verbal communication skillsAble to respond to vendors, consultants and staff in a timely and professional mannerMust be able to prioritize and meet deadlinesProactive, able to work effectively in a team environment and problem solveProficient in Excel, experience with Deltek and/or Coupa software a plusLife at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
