
Bartender - Bars

- Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and beverage items.
- Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the bar and debit floats.
- Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of each shift, and upon closing.
- Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
- Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in storage areas. Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
- Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in accordance with Students' Union policies.
- Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
- To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health Authority Act, U of A and Students’ Union regulations and policies.
- Other
duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Alberta Grade 12, or equivalent.
- Experienced preferred
- Excellent work habits, personal hygiene, professional appearance and dress in accordance with Students' Union policy.
- Good physical condition and the ability to handle full beer kegs.
- Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students’ Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic attitude.
- Must have ProServe certification.
