
Strategic Pricing Analyst

- Price Premium Management:
- Establish and maintain price premium bands by market and product line, serving as a reference for cross-functional teams (Finance, Merchandising, etc.).
- Regularly assess and update price bands based on market shifts, competitor activity, and internal performance data.
- Benchmark StarTech.com products against key competitors to ensure pricing is aligned with perceived value and brand positioning.
- Competitive Price Monitoring & Reporting:
- Continuously monitor competitor pricing trends and movements across all relevant markets.
- Generate periodic competitive pricing reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Pricing Manager and Pricing Council to adjust pricing strategies in response to market trends and competitor actions.
- Develop and maintain exception reports identifying SKUs priced above acceptable thresholds relative to competitors.
- Performance Impact & Opportunity Identification:
- Track and report on the impact of pricing actions on key business metrics such as demand, margin, transactions, and customer acquisition/retention.
- Identify emerging pricing opportunities and potential risks, escalating strategic recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Partner with the Merchandising team to proactively optimize pricing for high-volume or high-competition products to enhance revenue and share growth.
- Price Elasticity & Modeling:
- Conduct analytical tests and leverage historical price change data to determine price elasticity by product line.
- Build and maintain dynamic pricing models that inform strategic pricing decisions and maximize revenue and market share.
- Analyze customer responsiveness to price changes and identify optimal pricing strategies based on elasticity patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Technology or relevant cumulative experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experience as a Data Analyst or Pricing Analyst.
- Technical experience regarding data models, data mining, data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in pricing analytics, market intelligence, or revenue optimization.
- A background in managing dynamic pricing, discounting policies, and working with cost-plus or value-based pricing frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on strategic thinking and driving data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Master’s degree in data Analytics is preferred.
