- Coach, mentor and manage 2-3 data analysts to develop a high performing, highly motivated, innovative, and engaged team of professionals.
- Manage and maximize resources balancing between development of team and delivering value to the business
- Delegate tasks appropriately to deliver actionable analytical insights to ensure stakeholder satisfaction
- Monitor and evaluate performance by providing timely and regular feedback on personal and team goals.
- Effectively hire, onboard, and retain talent, with a focus on sustainability and long-term development needs.
- Identify process gaps, efficiencies, refinements and establish new process where needed
- Work with business strategically to discover where best to apply data analytics to solve business problems
- Guide the analysts in choosing the correct analytical techniques and validating the outcome to ensure it is what is expected
- Apply expertise in descriptive and diagnostic techniques to solve business problems and to review output from team members to ensure correct and high quality analytics is being delivered to the business
- Communicate and frame complex analytics simply and into compelling stories for business leaders and data users
- Deliver according to pre-agreed timelines and ensure that delivery meets the integrity, quality and performance requirements.
- Interact frequently with stakeholders including interaction with Directors and AVPs across Health, data engineers, data owners, and technology partners
- Bachelor’s degree in a field with a strong technical core such as Computer Science, Software engineering, Business Analytics, Engineering Science, Statistics, Math, Business Commerce or equivalent working experience
- 5+ years of experience in analytics in the health or group benefits
- Expert level experience with BI/Reporting/providing business insights & statistical & reporting software (i.e. Python, SQL, Tableau)in the cloud environment (e.g. AWS)
- Highly driven and self motivated having the ability to drive solution design in a multi system setting.
- Solid communication skills – have the ability to explain complexity of data to a business audience and explain the complexity of business to the IT audience
- Passion to challenge the status quo, find new solutions and drive out-of-the-box ideas.
- Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust.
- Not afraid to “roll up the sleeves” and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn, pushing teams to do the same.
- Highly collaborative and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment professionally and positively.
