Location: Irving, TexasWhat you will be doing:Lead and align a team of Operational EHS direct reports to EHS’ strategic intent by focusing the teams’ activities and holding each individual accountable for resultsWorks with Sector EHS and Operations Leadership to ensure adequate EHS resources are in placeActively participate in operational Senior Management team meetings and engage senior leaders on EHS related issues and opportunities with a focus on actionMoniitor and report on EHS performance to operational leadership, inform corrective strategies.Works closely with relevant senior operational leadership to and coach, guide and mentor on EHS requirements and leadership behaviors expected by the companyDrives consistent implementation of the company’s EHS strategy, vision, programs, policies and initiatives across operational sector / project(s)Maintain a pulse on the company’s related concerns or developments and provide pragmatic and timely solutions to address issues that impact the attainment of business objectivesBuild strong relationships with the company counterparts on to ensure ongoing collaboration, communication and supportFosters and maintains strong relationships with Client company’s LeadershipManages the day-to-day activities of the company EHS operations within assigned sectorEnsures compliance to jurisdictional company regulations and other pertinent legislationInspects and Audits project facilities and recommends corrective and or preventative measuresRepresents the organization in community or industry safety associations and programsCollaborates with the company’s Claims team on workers’ compensation and claims management processesSupervise/conduct accident investigations, analyze trends and ensure corrective actions are addressedEnsure resourcing for the company proposals and assists in marketing strategies and presentationsAssist in Labour Relations matters as requiredAssist sector with marketing strategies, prequalification’s, bids and proposals.What you must have:University degree, Community College or equivalent experience in the Environment, Health and Safety fieldAt least 10 years’ experience in a senior EHS role in the construction or related industry (ideally high hazard)A professional designation such as “CRSP” is considered an assetAbility to monitor and report costs under the direction of supervisor / managerIn-depth knowledge and ability to strategically apply risk management strategies across a business group or regionFamiliar with the players in all related industries. Understands competitive environment and industry trends in the medium to long term.Ability to deliver formal presentations to management, Clients and industry playersData fluency (dashboards, trend analysis) and facilitation skills across crews, supervision, and management.Ability to oversee and lead major incident investigations. Ability to research and prepare high level reports on HSE and improvement strategies at the group levelAbility to devise and monitor group level strategic business plans and resource infrastructure.Ability to influence the strategic direction of the business at a business unit or group level. Ability to inspire others to commit to the company’s strategy and vision.Detailed understanding of workplace motivation and morale principles. Ability to monitor motivational levels and strategically plan and/or support companywide morale improvement / motivational initiativesAbility to contribute to and communicate a companywide long-term vision and a strategy to achieve short, medium and long-term goals.Knowledge of change management principles. Ability to drive, lead and support change at the company level.Ability to produce high level creative ideas, products and solutionsAbility to develop and maintain a network of industry-wide contacts.Strong knowledge of team functioning and morale principles.
