Job Description :Partner Staffing is the "go to recruiter" for difficult, important, and time sensitive positions in Western Canada. We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our growing team in Calgary. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for infrastructure projects including earthworks, underground utilities, road construction, and site development.RequirementsKey Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for earthworks, grading, utilities, and paving
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Develop and maintain unit pricing and cost databases
  • Identify project risks and opportunities during the bidding process
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams
  • Participate in bid reviews, tender closings, and post-bid analysis
  • Ensure estimates align with company standards and project requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
  • Experience with projects such as: Road building and highways, Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm), Earthworks and site grading.
  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, HCSS, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Local experience in Calgary or Western Canada market conditions
  • Familiarity with municipal and provincial (Alberta) standards and contracts
  • Knowledge of union and non-union labor environments
