- Continue the development of a comprehensive guiding document for the project, outlining key factors for success of a “Nigiri” style project in the Lower Fraser floodplain. Share project ideas and findings with stakeholders to garner support and seek potential partners and suitable locations for a pilot project.
- Create a robust concept plan for implementing a pilot test of the project idea, encompassing experimental design, plans for any necessary land use changes, a cost analysis, and effectiveness monitoring. Develop a detailed budget for the pilot.
- Support contractors and partners in conducting site surveys and data collection to support the identification of potential locations for the project in the Lower Fraser floodplain.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing project progress, findings, challenges, and recommendations for grant reporting, communicating among project partners, and to inform future initiatives and decision-making.
- Engage with the community, local organizations, and educational institutions to raise awareness about the project, its objectives, and the importance of habitat restoration for salmon and wildlife in the Fraser Valley.
- Contribute to coordination of other projects in PSF’s Climate Adaptation Program related to conservation planning in the Lower Fraser region, recovery planning, and emergency climate actions, as needed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- A degree or diploma, or training in ecology, habitat restoration, biology, environmental studies, GIS, or similar work experience.
- 2+ years of work experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of pacific salmon biology and habitat requirements.
- Familiarity with the Lower Fraser Valley area, an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience in project coordination.
- Proficiency with standard computer software (MS Office).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

- Base pay: The salary range for the Analyst role is $58,000 – $65,000. The actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, and the contribution the successful candidate is expected to make in the role.
