- Assist the Hydrovac Operator with all hydrovac excavation activities.
- Safely handle hoses, wands, and digging equipment during daylighting, trenching, and utility exposure.
- Set up and tear down equipment at job sites, ensuring proper placement, traffic control, and safety perimeters.
- Support loading/unloading of materials and debris removal.
- Follow all company safety policies, safe work practices, and PPE requirements.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings, hazard assessments (FLHAs/JHAs), and permit processes.
- Identify, report, and help mitigate hazards on site.
- Ensure proper lock-out/tag-out and ground disturbance procedures are followed.
- Assist in maintaining and cleaning hydrovac trucks and on-site tools.
- Perform routine inspections of hoses, nozzles, and job-specific attachments.
- Help conduct post-job cleanup, ensuring site is left in acceptable condition.
- Maintain clear communication with the Operator and site supervisors.
- Represent the company professionally on active sites, interacting respectfully with clients and contractors.
- Support job documentation including load logs, service reports, and safety forms.

- High School diploma
- Experience in Hydrovac, construction utility work.
- Familiarity with excavation and underground utility exposure.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract (or equivalent).
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, climbing, working outdoors in all weather).
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work extended hours when required.
- Ground Disturbance II, First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS, or related safety tickets.
- Outdoor field environment, in varying weather (rain, snow, heat, cold).
- Shifts may include early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekends.
- Work involves standing, walking, lifting, climbing, and operating tools for extended periods.
