- Registered Nurse with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Health Administration (preferred)
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Membership in relevant professional organization(s)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a maternal-child program, with 2 years in a leadership role
- Experience with guiding staff experiencing performance and/or attendance problems
- Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies
- Experience with patient flow within the maternal-child program
- Demonstrated knowledge of national and provincial standards in perinatal, pediatric, and neonatal care, including risk-appropriate levels of service and evidence-based clinical guidelines
- Demonstrated leadership with respect to enhancing patient and staff safety
- Demonstrated leadership to support patient experience and satisfaction
- Demonstrated excellence interpersonal communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team
- Proven analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills in stressful, complex clinical and emotional situations
- Strong change management skills and demonstrated success in facilitating department level change initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to make sound and effective decisions
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development
- Ability to analyze research and implement evidence-based practice into Policy and Procedure development and clinical practice
- Demonstrated knowledge of program planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated skills in building collaborative relationships

- Demonstrates knowledge of clinical practice in the care of: labouring and post partum patients and their families, care of neonates, and paediatric patients
