- Design and develop electrical control systems for equipment and machinery
- Provide technical guidance and support during design, installation, and commissioning
- Test and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and other electrical/pneumatic/mechanical systems
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and provide remote support for field service
- Perform Proof of Concept activities for advanced projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design automated assembly lines
- Maintain documentation for new and existing equipment
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with ISO, CSA, UL, and Johnson Electric policies and standards
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering/Design (Mechatronics, Industrial, or Electromechanical disciplines)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Electrical Designer with EPLAN software
- Strong knowledge of CSA, UL, and industrial robot system safety/compliance
- Expertise in PLC/HMI systems and system control
- Experience commissioning machines, including IO checkout, Ethernet IP setup, machine safety configuration, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and create electrical prints and apply controls/design principles
- Strong Microsoft Office skills; SolidWorks experience (pneumatic/mechanical drawings) is an asset
- Independent, hands-on, and self-motivated professional
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- High level of integrity, dependability, and urgency
- Hands-on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience
- Experience leading or mentoring other designers
- Advanced automation project exposure
