What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Design and develop electrical control systems for equipment and machinery
  • Provide technical guidance and support during design, installation, and commissioning
  • Test and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and other electrical/pneumatic/mechanical systems
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and provide remote support for field service
  • Perform Proof of Concept activities for advanced projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design automated assembly lines
  • Maintain documentation for new and existing equipment
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, CSA, UL, and Johnson Electric policies and standards
What We’re Looking For:
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering/Design (Mechatronics, Industrial, or Electromechanical disciplines)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Electrical Designer with EPLAN software
  • Strong knowledge of CSA, UL, and industrial robot system safety/compliance
  • Expertise in PLC/HMI systems and system control
  • Experience commissioning machines, including IO checkout, Ethernet IP setup, machine safety configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and create electrical prints and apply controls/design principles
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; SolidWorks experience (pneumatic/mechanical drawings) is an asset
  • Independent, hands-on, and self-motivated professional
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and urgency
Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Hands-on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Experience leading or mentoring other designers
  • Advanced automation project exposure
