Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) is a division of Canada’s largest privately held hospitality company, Northland Properties Corporation (NPC), and since its inception in 2007, we have gained a reputation for big mountain riding, legendary powder and an authentic Canadian resort town.Job DescriptionRevelstoke Mountain Resort is seeking outgoing and energetic individuals to work as volunteer Mountain Host. The role of Mountain Host is to:
  • Enhanced sense of arrival at the Resort, add a welcoming atmosphere and Improve the Guest’s first impressions of the Resort
  • Provide useful information and directions to Guests to improve the start of their day.
  • Enhance the Guest’s end of day experience by providing a friendly goodbye
  • Enhance the Guest’s on-mountain experience by having a presence at various locations, providing information and guidance on Mountain, Trail conditions, Activities available, etc…
  • Provide extra on-mountain safety and monitoring by having a presence at various locations to enhance and improve Guest’s safety.
  • Improve the first comer’s experience by providing short, guided tour at the top of Gondola
Responsibilities:
  • Create a positive first impression
  • Welcome guests with warmth, approachability and genuine enthusiasm for Summer at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Be visible, friendly and proactive at key arrival points including the base area, gondola and bus stops.
  • Provide Clear and Helpful Information
  • Offer accurate directions and guidance for:
  • Gondola, Activity and Mountain Biking operating times
  • Hiking and Mountain Biking trails and closures
  • The Highline and Pipe Mountain Coaster (know how to instruct guests to get in line via wait well)
  • Food and Beverage locations and hours
  • Washrooms and first aid
  • Events happening around the resort
  • Support Guest Flow and Wayfinding
  • Help manager and ease guest movement through high-traffic areas
  • Proactively reduce congestion by answering questions, directing guests to the correct lines, and helping guests locate our different activities
  • Represent RMR standards and Mountain Culture
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and model RMR’s values
  • Safety-focused and guest obsesses
  • Friendly, welcoming and inclusive
  • Knowledgeable and calm during peak periods
  • Be a proud ambassador to Revelstoke and our environment
  • Enhance the End of Day Experience
  • Focus on connection at both the start and end of the guest’s journey, ensuring guests feel:
  • Welcome, informed and confident when they arrive
  • Valued, acknowledged and appreciated when they leave
Required Qualifications and Abilities:
  • Excellent knowledge of the Mountain, Trails, activities offered, and its operations
  • Being a Revelstoke local is an asset
  • Passionate, Positive attitude and Supporter of RMR
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Language skills an asset – English, French, German, Spanish, etc.…
