The Global Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team delivers accurate, timely, and relevant reporting and analysis to a variety of stakeholders. The team is focused on the following key activities:Producing thoughtful, relevant global management reporting materials for business units, Group Finance, Investor Relations, the Board of Directors and external stakeholdersProvision of relevant information related to external reporting for WAMUpgrading and centralizing the delivery model, and driving process improvementsOperating a Planning and Reporting Centre of Expertise (CoE), including thought leadership and the production of planning figuresLiaising with Transformation and Accounting and Reporting teamsReporting to Director, Head of FP&A Intermediary the incumbent will be a Finance professional who will take a key role in supporting the fast-growing Intermediary franchise by delivering accurate, timely, and relevant reporting and analysis to support the business and senior management decision making.Position Responsibilities:Acquire deep institutional knowledge of Intermediary (Retail Mutual Funds) and its financialsBuild, and maintain financial models to support the evolving needs of the businessPlay a lead role in the financial analysis and annual planning for the business, including investigation of trends, model projections, sensitivities, key metrics (e.g. earnings, flows, AUM), preparation of presentation decks, and ad hoc requests as requiredPrepare high-quality monthly and quarterly reports, dashboards and presentationsLeverage in-depth Essbase / Smart View and Anaplan knowledge to efficiently produce financial planning and reportingYou will also contribute to the following aspects of management reporting and business analysis:Leadership role in consolidating, analyzing, and synthesizing large amount of complex financial and non-financial information from numerous suppliers from Intermediary Finance and Reporting teams.Preparing high-quality monthly and quarterly reports, dashboards and presentations that are presented to the CFO team in a timely and organized fashion.Contributing to strategy and business-led discussions by providing financial insights, business trends and understanding of our overall GWAM objectives; providing quantification or “proof points” to support decisionsServing as an Intermediary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various cross-company/BU strategic initiatives and projects; offering Intermediary-specific lenses to issue considerations and resolution;Helping to develop an Intermediary talent pool by training and mentoring junior members of the Finance teamHelping to develop and operationalize best-in-class reporting framework, including financial and non-financial metrics and KPIs to illustrate key levers for differentiation and growth and enable forward-looking decisionsDemonstrating strong attention to detail, focusing on financial integrity, consolidation, alignment, and consistency in “look and feel” deliverables.Leading ongoing improvements by exploring, identifying, and implementing reporting, analysis, and process solutions.Working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders; building and leveraging relationships by understanding their issues and challengesRequired Qualifications:University degree in Accounting/FinanceProfessional accounting designation (CPA) or Degree specialized in Accounting/Finance preferred.6-8 years of experience in a finance role; Wealth and Asset Management industry experience an assetDemonstrated experience developing, reviewing/vetting, working with financial models and analyzing potential risks; exceptional analytical skills coupled with a critical thinking mindset and eye for detailsStrong Excel and PowerPoint skills; Essbase/ledger and Anaplan expertise would be an assetProven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requestsProactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive, “can-do” attitudeCurious with the ability to identify and investigate complex issues, and recommend actionable solutionsExperience with writing, analysis and storytelling for effective deck productionExceptional analytical skills coupled with a critical thinking mindsetAdvanced executive communication and writing skills; ability to succinctly engage with management and other team membersWhen you join our team:We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you wantWe’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just wordsAs part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to seeThe role being advertised is an existing vacancy.About Manulife and John HancockManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
