- Review preliminary concepts and lead the transition from schematic design to detailed development, ensuring that the architectural vision particularly interior and exterior finishes and intricate detailing is preserved through construction.
- Produce drawings and specifications using AutoCAD/Revit that prioritize interior junctions, material transitions, and Client standards while ensuring strict adherence to building codes and budget.
- Act as the technical liaison for the Client, providing clear updates on project progress, managing aesthetic and structural risks, and explaining architectural methodologies to ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Collaborate with the design team to conduct deep dive reviews of drawings; provide expert input on interior and exterior constructability, resolve complex site conditions, and proactively address quality or compliance gaps before they impact the finish.
- Partner with specialized trades to define precise scopes of work, develop integrated schedules, and conduct rigorous on-site inspections to ensure that craftsmanship meets the high-performance standards required for interior and exterior architectural details.
- Navigate the approvals process with stakeholders and authorities, securing all necessary permits and agreements while managing the flow of supplemental information to keep the project moving.
- Maintain meticulous tracking of quantities, inventory, and cost reports, ensuring that materials finishes are managed to exact project specifications.
- Interpret and enforce contract documents with a focus on technical accuracy; manage the RFI process to resolve discrepancies between architectural intent and site realities quickly and effectively.
- Monitor project milestones and budgets with a "detail-first" mindset, implementing corrective actions to mitigate deviations and ensure the project is delivered on time without compromising the design's integrity.
- College degree in architecture or a related field.
- 3-5 years of construction experience; multi-disciplinary, large-scale architectural projects would be an asset.
- Substantial knowledge of OBC and OHSA
- Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
- Sound computer skills - MS Excel / Lotus, MS Word, MS Project, AutoCAD/Revit.
- Strong communication skills , both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with others as a team.
- Ability to commute and work from site
