- Assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
- Reviewing and posting journal entries related to receivables, payables, accruals, and prepaids
- Reviewing bank reconciliations and supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and forecasts
- Monitoring budgets and tracking actuals against financial plans
- Preparing monthly cash flow forecasts
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and maintaining financial data integrity
- Preparing financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders
- Supporting annual audit preparation, including working papers and documentation
- Assisting with communication and coordination with external auditors
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and recording depreciation
- Supporting HST filings and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
- Reviewing branch financial information and membership fee reconciliations
- Supporting improvements to financial systems, controls, and procedures
- Staying current with applicable accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations and relevant CRA regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and analysis
- Experience working in a not-for-profit or association environment considered an asset
- Strong understanding of GAAP and/or Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO)
- Experience supporting financial audits and preparing supporting documentation
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly advanced Excel
- Experience with Sage 300 (AccPac) considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling financial information
- Permanent position
- Hybrid work environment - 3 days per week in office

- Salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year (DOE)
