Backed by a team of licensed engineers, they are fully credentialed to deliver professional engineering services across Western Canada.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Oil & Gas Business Development Manager, you will lead business growth efforts across upstream and midstream sectors, focusing on the Alberta market. Based in Calgary, this position requires 50% travel to Fort McMurray and surrounding areas to engage directly with clients and project stakeholders.Strategy & Market Development:
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans focused on the oil & gas industry.
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue high-value project opportunities aligned with core offerings.
Client Engagement & Sales:
  • Grow key accounts and develop new client relationships through consultative and technical selling.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and lead project discussions with engineers and procurement teams.
  • Track sales performance and pipeline activity through CRM platforms.
Technical Collaboration & Support:
  • Leverage technical expertise to propose solutions for valve automation, control systems, and other industrial applications.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
Territory Coverage:
  • Based in Calgary, with travel (~50%) to Fort McMurray and other client sites as required.
  • Balance fieldwork, client meetings, and home-office responsibilities effectively.
Results Expected
  • Deliver between $3-6 million in annual revenue through new and existing accounts.
  • Grow market share in Alberta's upstream and midstream sectors.
  • Consistently identify and convert high-potential leads into long-term clients.
  • Achieve annual double-digit sales growth.
QualificationsEducation & Experience:
  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related technical field is required.
  • 3+ years of technical or sales experience within the oil & gas, industrial automation, or process industries.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software; experience with Salesforce is considered an asset.
