Join us and design your place with Stantec.Stantec's office in Markham, ON is currently seeking a Buildings Electrical CAD/Revit Technician/Technologist. This is a dynamic work environment where your abilities will strengthen and grow as you complete a diverse range of projects. Our team of interdisciplinary engineers works collaboratively with clients to design buildings and processes that are on track for safety, performance, and sustainability.Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader the successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:Producing aspects of electrical design and drawings in AutoCAD and Revit;Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD digital file database for each project;Successfully carrying out assignments on project design teams;Facilitating and ensuring the quality of design, drawings and graphic work produced for the team; and ensuring that the projects' needs are met in terms of project work plan schedules and budgets;Training will be provided to advance your skills in areas of detailed design.Assist and mentor new draftersThe successful candidate will possess the following:Graduate of a Technology/Technician diploma program from a recognized post-secondary institution.Certificate or diploma in an engineering technician or technology program (two or three year).2 years of experience a must.Experience in design, drafting and construction administration for electrical systems will be an asset.Comprehensive knowledge and experience with recent versions of AutoCAD.Practical experience with Building Information Modeling (i.e. REVIT) and 3D modelling experience is an asset and will be given preference.Experience in design and drafting of single line diagrams, power distribution systems, UPS, cable trays, lighting, grounding, equipment layouts, Fire Alarm, motor schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels and control wiring, low voltage switchgear, MCCs and area classification .Experience using Building Codes in Canada, as well as specialty regulations would be an asset.Working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and electrical design principles.Effective communication skills are essential, including interpersonal and verbal abilities within the team environmentA team player, self-motivated and eager to learnExcellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skillsMust be well organized to be able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignmentsAccess to a personal vehicle to visit sites may be required.Qualified candidates who are highly motivated and eager to commit to Stantec's strategic initiative to become a top 10 global design firm should please apply on-line at www.stantec.com/careers.Committed to the principles of Employment Equity, we thank all candidates; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Pay Range:
