- Strong decision‑making, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to operate independently
- Strong hands-on experience with HACCP, risk assessments, CCP/PRP management, validation, and verification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital QA systems.
- You have excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis methods
- Demonstrated experience working within GFSI-certified environments (BRCGS preferred), CFIA/SFCR, and gluten-free/allergen programs
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of QA experience in food manufacturing, including direct leadership of QA teams
- Certified PCQI with demonstrated ownership of a Food Safety Plan
- Experience in commercial baking and/or gluten‑free environments
- Proven ability to adopt and lead QMS software and digital recordkeeping systems
- Act as the site’s PCQI, with full accountability for the oversight, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Food Safety Plan, including hazard analysis and preventive controls.
- Ensure site-wide compliance with CFIA/SFCR, BRC Global Standard, GFCP, GFCO, Organic, and customer-specific requirements.
- Own and manage the internal audit program, ensuring we are prepared for audits, all documentation and record are audit ready and all times, and completed as scheduled and that effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) are developed, implemented, and verified for all non‑conformances.
- Lead and coordinate root cause investigations for food safety and quality incidents.
- Chair the HACCP team, with ownership for developing, implementing, maintaining, and reassessing the HACCP plan.
- You are willing to work flexible shifts to cover for vacations, sick days or leave if required
