We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our dynamic team in an electrical manufacturing environment. This position offers diverse job rotation opportunities across multiple departments, providing exposure to various aspects of the business, including engineering, sales, estimation, project management, quality, production, service, and automation. The role is ideal for candidates passionate about developing technical and leadership skills in a company specializing in custom switchgear and power control room solutions.Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering and Design:
- Assist in designing and reviewing electrical systems, switchgear, motor control centers, and powerhouses.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and system analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Support the sales team in preparing technical proposals and cost estimates.
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate product solutions.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to gain insights into market needs.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating projects from inception to completion.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and propose solutions.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support the company's Quality Management System.
- Perform factory inspections in accordance with standard test procedures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Support customer Factory Acceptance Tests and the discrepancy closeout process.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient workflows and adherence to safety protocols.
- Gain hands-on experience with assembly, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Perform field inspections and customer site visits to ensure product reliability.
- Support service teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Assist in designing and reviewing custom switchgear solutions and automation products
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Eligible or registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a provincial engineering association.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other design software is an asset.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., CSA, IEC, NEC).
