Your Opportunity:This Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech I) position performs quality MRI imaging in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management is required.Description:As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I, you will produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist for the purpose of diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. You will produce high quality diagnostic MRI images as ordered by a Physician, prepare and position patients for examination, review patient history, explain procedures, respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure, and maintain MRI equipment.

Required Qualifications:Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program required or completion of certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:An MRI Technologist with strong technical knowledge and skills is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic, as well as proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. They must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Must perform well under pressure, including in emergency situations. A commitment to professional growth and continuing education is essential. The successful candidate will exhibit strong perception, initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail and accuracy. They will consistently demonstrate tact, courtesy, and professionalism when interacting with radiologists, patients, students, leadership, physicians, and AHS staff. The ability to meet the physical demands of the position is also required. Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience as MRI Tech I in a hospital setting is preferred. Connect Care and Provincial Enterprise Imaging (PEI) proficiency an asset. AHS annual continuing education and ACMDTT education requirements up to date and applicable additional courses preferred. Demonstrated participation in AHS Diagnostic Imaging Quality program/Peervue. Experience and aptitude in mentoring students an asset.
