- Teaching ski lessons following both the CSIA teaching methodology and the Big White Ski & Board School’s progression levels to a range of clients of all ages in both group and private settings
- Always working with safety in mind to safeguard guests and fellow workers
- Planning lesson content to create a safe and fun learning experience
- Evaluating lesson participants, completing achievement records and recommending what they can do next
- Ensuring effective public relations, and problem solving as required
- Working cooperatively and maintaining ongoing communication with other program staff
- Taking appropriate action to deal with incidents and emergencies, as outlined in the Ski & Board School’s policies and procedures
- CSIA Level 2 or above (or international equivalent), AND
- Previous ski instructing experience, and experience working in organized settings
- Proficiency teaching in a second language, such as Spanish, French or Mandarin
- CASI level 1 or above (or international equivalent)
- CSIA Course Conductor certification
- CSIA Snowpark or Canadian Freestyle Ski Association (CFSA) certifications
- Experience in teaching children
- Nordic Skiing certifications
- Ability to carry 40lbs/18kg while skiing/riding
- Ability and prepared to work in extreme alpine weather conditions
- Ability to assist a fallen skier/snowboarder back onto their feet
- Ability to lift 40lbs/18kg
- Ability to ski/ride for 6-7 hours a day
