- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Perform routine pre and post inspections along with maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment such as fueling or replacing liquified gas tank and checking oil.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored in proper areas.
- Operate dump truck and front-end loaders/skid steers for the purpose of loading and unloading material such as dirt, sand, snow, gravel.
- Hook trucks to trailer hitches and fasten attachments, such as graders, tractors, using hitch pins.
- Organizing and securing stored materials.
- Loading or unloading materials
- Moving, setting-up and tearing down of equipment for various events, as directed by the planner/supervisor.
- Providing guidance concerning occupational health and safety when completing certain tasks with laborers.
- Listening closely and asking how you can better serve the customer’s needs.
- Fulfilling all requests
- Ensuring customers feel welcome by acknowledging them with a smile, making eye contact, engaging in conversation, and anticipating their needs.
- Ensuring that security and safety measures are in place in the facility.
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Provincial driver’s license.
- Two years’ experience operating heavy and mobile equipment preferred. Previous relevant work experience will be considered.
- Valid certification to operate a forklift is required.
- Possession of a valid CPR & First Aid certification card is an asset.
- Knowledge of safety regulations regarding heavy equipment operation and/or a certificate in heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to be safety conscious and willing to follow safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform the physically strenuous and demanding tasks to fulfill all working conditions and physical demands.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to maintain an accurate quality of work under stress and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to maintain a respectable public image and conduct, interacting with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
