Together, we advance your career.THE ROLE:We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a high-impact team building AMD’s diagnostics software suite critical tools that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our products across a wide range of platforms.In this role, you will shape technical direction, drive execution, and deliver diagnostics solutions used throughout product bring-up, validation, and manufacturing. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners across hardware, validation, and product teams, operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your leadership directly impacts AMD’s ability to deliver world-class technology.THE PERSON:You are a hands-on technical leader who enjoys building strong engineering teams and delivering high-quality software at scale. You bring clarity to complex challenges, balance execution with long-term strategy, and are comfortable leading both people and technical initiatives.You communicate effectively across disciplines, thrive in a global, matrixed organization, and care deeply about fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and engineering excellence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and mentor a fast-moving diagnostics software engineering team, driving alignment, execution, and delivery.
  • Define and evolve the technical roadmap for diagnostics tools and frameworks in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
  • Translate product and engineering requirements into clear backlogs, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Establish and refine software development processes across the full lifecycle, from design through release.
  • Drive strong technical decision-making around architecture, technology selection, and implementation.
  • Own delivery commitments by tracking progress, managing risks, and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
  • Define and monitor key engineering metrics to continuously improve software quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, validation, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure diagnostics solutions meet performance, quality, and usability needs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience managing software engineering teams and delivering complex, production-level software.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices across the full development lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end software development in a hardware-centric or systems environment.
  • Knowledge of silicon IPs or chip hardware blocks and their associated product lifecycles.
  • Background in diagnostics, validation tools, manufacturing test, or system bring-up.
