- Lead end-to-end project delivery for maine systems projects, from planning/handover through execution, installation, commissioning, sea trails/testing, and handover/closeout.
- Ensures major projects and programs are managed across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality.
- Lead strategic projects; and provide support with bids and proposal.
- Provide guidance and make decisions on project issues.
- Ensures compliance with internal program procedures and project control guidelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, detailed schedules (using tools like MS Project), resource allocation, risk regisers, and mitigation strategies.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting, change orders/variations, and profitability (P&L responsiblity for assigned projects.).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, classification societies, regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and internal teams. (engineering, procurement, production, installation, service.)
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, vendors, shipyard personnel, and offshore crews, while ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Monitor technical performance, design reviews, site surveys/pre-installation checks, (sometiems involving vessel visits.), and manage system integration/testing/commissioning activities.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Produce regular progress reports and presentations for senior management and clients.
- Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned, and knowledge transfer across projects.
- Produce monthly project summary reports that include focus on EAC report predicting the total cost of a project at completion, based on actual performance so far and updated estimates for the remaining work.
- Keep management fully informed on progress.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Maritime Technology, or a closely related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in marine/offshore project execution.
- Strong technical understanding of marine systems (e.g., electrical/power, automation, propulsion, or integration challenges).
- Familiarity with maritime standards/regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong ability to develop and track project schedules, manage risks, and monitor cost performance using established project management tools and processes.
- Experience coordinating project activities across engineering, procurement, and site teams to support design, testing, and implementation phases.
- Hands-on involvement in preparing project plans, technical documentation, change requests, and progress reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Demonstrated capability to manage vendor deliverables, monitor execution milestones, and support FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
- Effective communicator able to translate project status, constraints, and decisions to technical teams, management, and external partners.
- Strong organizational skills with a track record of meeting deadlines, handling competing priorities, and driving tasks to completion.
- Willingness to travel (vessel visits, shipyards, client sites, offshore).
- Proficient with project management tools and software (MS Project, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, collaborative PM platforms).
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills both in French and English
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
