The Senior Project Engineer plays a critical role in integrating engineering disciplines, driving execution, and ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives across all phases of the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading coordination and execution of engineering activities, acting as a key interface between technical teams and project leadership.Project Leadership & ExecutionLead the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities across all project phases (FEED, detailed design, and execution).Drive alignment of engineering deliverables with overall project objectives, including scope, schedule, and budget.Support development and management of project execution plans, engineering deliverables lists, and key milestones.Provide leadership in resolving complex project and technical challenges.Pipeline Project FocusSupport the delivery of large-diameter cross-country pipeline systems, including:Mainline routing and constructability considerationsPump/compressor stations and associated facilitiesPipeline integrity, materials selection, and code complianceEnsure alignment with applicable pipeline codes and standards (e.g., CSA Z662) and client specifications.Coordinate closely with pipeline, mechanical, civil, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines.Technical Integration & OversightAct as the central integration point across engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive and constructible design solutions.Review and oversee engineering deliverables for quality, completeness, and compliance.Provide guidance to discipline engineers and support technical decision-making.Interface with discipline leads to ensure alignment on technical requirements and project priorities.Project Controls & Performance ManagementWork closely with project controls to monitor and manage schedule, cost, and progress performance.Support forecasting, earned value tracking, and progress reporting.Identify risks to project delivery and proactively implement mitigation strategies.Risk, Change & Interface ManagementLead identification and management of project risks and opportunities.Support and enforce robust Management of Change (MOC) processes.Manage internal and external interfaces, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Stakeholder & Client EngagementServe as a key point of contact for client engineering teams.Lead or support client meetings, technical reviews, and progress updates.Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders across all project phases.Safety & Quality LeadershipChampion a strong safety culture aligned with Worley’s Zero Harm principles.Ensure all engineering activities meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned initiatives.QualificationsQualifications – What You Will BringTechnical & Industry ExperienceExtensive experience in engineering and project execution within the oil & gas / pipeline sector.Demonstrated experience on large-diameter cross-country pipeline projects is strongly preferred.Strong understanding of multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM project delivery.Proven ability to lead coordination across engineering disciplines on complex projects.Solid knowledge of project lifecycle phases from FEED through execution and commissioning.Familiarity with pipeline codes and standards (e.g., CSA Z662) is an asset.Core CompetenciesStrong leadership, coordination, and decision-making capability.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.High attention to detail with a focus on quality and delivery.Education & Professional CredentialsBachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (or eligible for registration).Previous experience in a Senior Project Engineer or similar leadership role is required.Moving forward togetherWe’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong, can bring themselves, and are heard.
