- Accountable for writing and sending requests for proposals to potential vendors
- Accountable for drafting responses to contract bids, negotiations, and proposals
- Responsible to onboard new vendors using Sun Life’s Third Party Risk Management guidelines partnering with internal teams (Procurement / Legal / IT Security) to achieve the desired outcome
- Effectively ensure all contract details align with Sun Life’s guidelines, policies, objectives, and goals
- Efficiently negotiate new engagements, extensions, close-outs, or renewals
- Review existing contracts to locate any potential breaches and to add updates as requested by signatories
- Develop meaningful insights and reports that assist and educate internal teams, business partners and Senior Management
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with assigned vendors.
- Understanding Sun Life’s strategic priorities and communicating them to the vendor, collaborating with the vendor to align offerings with Sun Life’s future needs and identifying opportunities for cost saving and process improvements in vendor relationships
- Responsible for building rapport and trust to foster a positive working relationship and ensure effective communication and alignment of goals between Sun Life and our vendors.
- Provide strategic partnership mindset, including the ability to lead and oversee Sun Life’s strategic vendor partnerships to drive better business outcomes.
- Identify areas of improvement within current strategic partnership governance structures and project oversight to drive better collaboration between our vendors and Sun Life’s business partners.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions that enhance business operations
- Develop comprehensive business case analyses to support strategic decision-making and project proposals.
- Oversee the development and execution of high-impact project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Responsible for collaborating with internal teams to negotiate contracts, monitoring contract terms including SLAs, KPIs and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
- Accountable to ensure that all contracts are well-managed, compliant, and aligned with Sun Life’s needs
- Defining and tracking KPIs and SLAs, analyzing performance data to identify areas for improvement, and tracking financial spend to ensure cost effectiveness and implement enhancements
- Ensuring that vendor services align with Sun Life’s strategic goals to maximize value
- Be accountable for addressing and resolving issues/conflicts that arise during Sun Life’s relationship with the vendor. Champion concerns raised by both Sun Life and the vendor, working to prevent potential issues and proactively identify solutions and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to resolve conflictsUse security knowledge to ensure solutions meet governance standards
- Drive project timelines and ensure the successful delivery of tasks.
- Experience leading strategic vendor partnerships, and/or strategic account management for large scale enterprise partners
- Possess in-depth knowledge of network and security technologies, with experience in pre-sales engineering
- Strong negotiation skills, expertise in understanding of terms and conditions to facilitate effective contract discussions.
- The capacity to understand Sun Life’s strategic goals and align vendor services to support those objectives, long-term planning skills to strategically think about the future of the relationship and anticipate potential challenges

- Strong understanding of finance, managing budgets, bill payments and tracking spend management
- Experience using SAP Ariba
