Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.FunctionResearch, evaluate and recommend engaging content for the Corporation based on established priorities and guidelines. Follow up daily with producers, distributors and internal departments.Key tasksResearch, evaluate and recommend engaging content across all genres (mainly documentaries and variety shows, but also movies, series, kids’ content, etc.) for the Corporation.Conduct research and prepare program evaluation files.Record key information in our databases after each evaluation (reviews/ratings and program history).Recommend programs to your immediate supervisor.Help the acquisitions manager oversee program dubbing and adaptation: review scripts, watch rough cuts and suggest improvements or corrections as needed (subtitles, supers, etc.).Actively keep up with current events and stay on the lookout for productions that meet Corporation needs.Read and assess program proposals and participate in program evaluation committees.Draft / translate acquisition summaries and synopses and document the appropriate information sources.
Carry out all other related tasks as needed.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.Experience: Three (3) years’ relevant experience.SkillsStrong knowledge of international distribution and distributors.Good knowledge of national and international television as well as the shows aired on our own and competing networks.Ability to analyze and synthesize information.Excellent knowledge of French and good knowledge of spoken and written English.Good general knowledge and keen intellectual curiosity.Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines.Organizational and prioritization skills.Strong ability to effectively handle unforeseen situations.Diligence and judgment.Initiative and self-direction.Responsible.Open to new ideas; collaborative.Shortlisted candidates will be tested as follows:Practical test.Interview.Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the nextstep will be asked to complete a background check.
