What & Why:As a result of new projects our client is looking to add a contract back-end python/devops engineer to their growing team. This team designs, builds, and maintains scalable infrastructure applications and data solutions on AWS. This role requires deep expertise in Python and DevOps practices, with responsibility for automating the full software delivery lifecycle, developing cloud-native services, and ensuring security, resiliency, and efficiency across workloads. Acting as both a builder and innovator, the developer will create reusable components, optimize backend systems, and enable seamless delivery of applications and services used across the organization.Who:This client is one of the most recognizable Canadian brands, a true Vancouver success story who has expanded globally. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a hybrid work environment.You:You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Python, Boto, Click, package managers, package distribution, and infrastructure data layers (Relational SQL and Non-Relational NoSQL databases, database schemas, data fetching and pagination, storage, and consumption).
  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience working with CI/CD tooling/platforms, GitLab preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with DNS routing and caching solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience implementing networking solutions on AWS or other cloud providers.
