This role joins a small, close-knit finance team that supports multiple locations across the Prairies. Reporting to the Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring financial operations run smoothly, accurately, and consistently across multiple legal entities.You'll be hands-on, involved in the details, and trusted as a go-to person within the accounting function. - Overseeing core accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and general ledger across multiple entities
- Preparing and reviewing day-to-day accounting transactions and journal entries with accuracy and timeliness
- Reviewing monthly bank reconciliations for Canadian and U.S. accounts
- Supporting month-end close activities, financial reporting, and key performance metrics
- Performing variance and margin analysis to ensure proper revenue and expense recognition
- Assisting with monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Supporting year-end audit processes and coordinating audit requests
- Handling required provincial and federal tax filings
- Collaborating across teams to streamline workflows and improve accounting systems
- Participating in cross-training to support coverage within the finance team
- Contributing ideas to improve processes, efficiency, and consistency
- Supporting special projects and initiatives as the business continues to evolve
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business
- 5+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience, including reporting and analysis
- CPA designation preferred (or actively working toward it)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage tight deadlines
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear, confident communication and strong organizational abilities
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with modern accounting tools
- Experience with multiple legal entities is a strong asset
- Background in manufacturing, construction, or steel fabrication is an advantage
- Willingness to occasionally travel to other Prairie locations
