Under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the complete estimation process for one or more projects. You will analyze or develop plans for temporary electrical site installations, prepare single-line diagrams for temporary electrical distribution, optimize load panels, and validate the types of required equipment and cables. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be essential to ensure the success of the projects.What you will do
  • Analyze the plans and specifications to gain an overall understanding of the project.
  • Develop a preliminary work schedule, including the necessary resources for the site.
  • List the specialties, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers likely to contribute to the success of your estimate.
  • Prepare site installation plans.
  • Create single-line diagrams for these installations.
  • Develop load tables for the equipment.
  • Estimate the electrical consumption costs of the installations.
  • Request pricing for materials.
  • Analyze the project in detail to anticipate construction methods involving indirect costs.
  • Build the study in the estimating software, integrating subcontracted tasks, in-house work, teams, work rates and ratios, quantities to be completed, etc.
  • Conduct a full analysis and select pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review received bids and request additional ones if needed to ensure the best market prices.
  • Negotiate and place purchase orders for site-specific materials.
  • Maintain necessary communication with various stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the project manager and superintendents for the mobilization of the work team and required materials for temporary installations.
  • Actively participate in bid meetings.
This role could be for you if you have
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering or possess equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in estimating and/or project execution.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: building construction, electricity, piping, building and process mechanics.
