- Responsible for accurate and timely consolidated financial statements and management reports for the company, Accountable for monthly financial package preparation including budget vs. actual reports, P&L analysis, balance sheet information
- Work with outside tax accountants on annual tax filing and compliance
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and oversees inventory and other asset records
- Conforms and abides by all regulations, policies and work procedures and instructions
- Analyzes budget and reviews for accuracy and variances
- Investigates complex reporting discrepancies and identifies root cause
- Reviews quarterly forecasts, identifies problems and provides effective solutions
- Supervision and development of accounting staff, performance management, development of job descriptions
- Engage and create a positive environment for all members of the team
- Assigns work load and identifies training and education requirements for staff
- Develop detailed financial plan and model accordance according to company strategic plan
- Monitor and asses accounting systems and controls and implement accounting practices
- Ensure compliance to all policies and procedures
- Maintain the company’s system of accounts, oversee accounts payable and receivable, manage accounts payable aging, accounts receivables, allocating funds to correct amounts
- Assist and participate with management team to build a strategic plan and help the development of the business
- Work to maintain an environment of trust and high morale among employees
- Oversee the Navision Accounting System
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA designation is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., ERP systems), Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations relevant to the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and development.
