As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!We currently have an exciting opportunity for a General X-Ray Technologist to join our Medical Imaging team.Employment Status: Permanent Part TimeReporting Relationship: Manager, Medical ImagingHours of work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article HRH 2 – Management RightsEmployee Group: OPSEU 577Hourly rate range: $36.84 - $50.24Location: Humber River Health - Wilson SiteResponsibilities:
  • Perform all x-ray exams as per determined departmental protocols.
  • Includes general x-ray, O.R., Portables, Gastric exams, Fluoroscopy and minor procedures
  • Ability to operate all types of equipment including general x-ray rooms (DR & CR), mobile x-ray, c-arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and multi-purpose rooms.
  • Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures including obtaining consent and confirming exam validity, resourcing radiologists as is necessary and sterile technique practices.
  • Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via film and/or PACS.
  • Knowledge of and dutifully follows radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and their own occupational dose.
Qualifications:
  • Must be registered and in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). CAMRT is preferred.
  • Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team internally and externally to the Medical Imaging Department.
Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. * Must be willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the department when necessary.
