Reporting to the Director, Digital Transformation & Operational Accounting, the Inventory Accountant provides a variety of duties relating to all accounting inventory functions ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations. This position will be an integral member of the accounting team responsible for the inventory process including inventory management through all North America channels.This position is a hybrid role based out of Calgary, AB. Candidates must be located in Calgary to be considered.What you’ll do:

Ensure that product inventories are accurately accounted for, both at facilities leased by SGL, as well as at Third Party facilities from which SGL purchases product.
Enter and Reconcile Inventory in the Financial Management System
Reconcile the G/L to the Operational Inventory sheets as well as Facility Statements
Follow up with appropriate contacts to resolve any errors or discrepancies
Complete the 25 Settlement with Producers
Manage the preparation of monthly settlements with our producers ensuring they meet standard deadlines and payment dates
Review entries on Operational System RA and Secure Sheet
Provide Accounting with the Company’s Cost of Goods with a Focus on Inventory on Hand
Verify details on Sensitive Inventory Movements, Associated Inventory Variances and Inventory Reserve
Participate in Annual Statutory Audit and Tax Filing
Investigate issues or discrepancies that may cause inventory to fall out of balance
Prepare monthly intercompany transactions reconciliation

What you bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or Community College Diploma plus Professional Certification (e. g. CA, CHRP), OR working toward an Accounting Designation
3+ years of relevant experience
Proficient experience in MS applications (especially Excel)
General accounting industry knowledge

Salary:$69,300 - $86,550 (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).Eligible employees may earn performance-based incentives and have access to comprehensive benefits and retirement plans with matching contributions.This posting is a replacement for an existing vacancy.
