What you’ll do:Our Shop Foreman plays a key part in ensuring maximum productivity within our shop. You will assist with the coordination of the workload in our service department to ensure a smooth flow. You will also be tasked with providing training and direction to the technicians to support with development, efficiency and accuracy in their work. This role consists of:
  • Mentoring and training apprentice and service technicians
  • Ensuring shop flow and work order assignments are aligned to ensure maximum efficiency in the shop
  • Liaising with service manager in the planning, scheduling, arrangement of parts and efficiency of repairs in the shop
  • Maintain a high level of quality control by inspecting repairs to ensure that the quality, workmanship and cleanliness is up to standard as required
  • Maintain a safe work environment through day-to-day observation as well as participation in safety meetings
  • Support with customer service where service manager or technicians are unavailable
  • Maintaining a current knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment
  • Keep all service shop tools up to standard and advise service manager of any repairs or replacements required
  • Participate in on-call and overtime hours to ensure a high level of customer service in the department
RequirementsWhat you bring:
  • 3-5 years of experience within a mechanic shop, preferably focused on agriculture equipment
  • Certified Red Seal heavy duty technician, with a preference towards an agriculture focus
  • The ability to supervise, coach and mentor apprentice technicians
  • Experience providing constructive feedback and coaching in the moment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level of organizational and scheduling abilities
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to come up with creative solutions
