Salary: $110,000 - 145,000 per annumContact: Please send resumes to rhr.hydro@andritz.com and include “System Engineering Specialist” in the email subject line.The System Engineering Specialist bridges the boundaries between engineering and project management, leading the technical activities as a whole with the Engineering, Procurement and Installation teams. The SE is the primary technical point of contact for the customer and reports to the Project Manager.The System Engineering Specialist is responsible for providing mechanical advisory, design, and installation services for the upgrade, machinery delivery, installation, commissioning, and start-up for various ANDRITZ machinery, including stator frames, winding, runners, wicket gates, bearings, links, and levers of turbine components. This individual provides system-related and contract-based concept strategies to execute project requirements within cost, schedule, quality, and targets.Duties:
- Ensuring effective communication/coordination between the engineering, construction, and project controls groups;
- Organizing and facilitating meetings regarding technical activities and design reviews;
- Informing stakeholders of technical specifications and expectations;
- Defining the technical strategy and supply plan in collaboration with the Project Manager and the Procurement department;
- Coordinating technical documentation;
- Participating in the selection, negotiation, and technical discussions of the main suppliers and sub-contractors;
- Ensuring that all engineering deliverables and supply deliveries are made on time and according to the established quality criteria for all systems related to their projects;
- Following-up on Non-Conformances and Change Management with the customer and engineering;
- In collaboration with the Project Manager, analyzing, defining, and implementing a contingency plan to correct any failure or inadequacy that can negatively impact projects;
- Supporting the execution of internal audits in facilities and coordinating external audits;
- Supporting the Project Manager in the planning, monitoring, and control of scope, schedule, and cost for the project;
- Leading project planning and control activities, including schedule development, progress monitoring, forecasting, and corrective actions;
- Managing project risks and opportunities, including the development and implementation of mitigation and contingency plans;
- Leading project change management, including evaluation of impacts on cost, schedule, and technical scope;
- Preparing and presenting project status reports, forecasts, and recommendations to management and customers;
- Coordinating project resources and interfaces to ensure alignment between technical execution and overall project objectives;
- Ensuring compliance with contractual, quality, and internal governance requirements.
- Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a Project Engineering type roles is required;
- Experience overseeing complex equipment integration;
- Experience in the fields of hydroelectricity, energy producing equipment or related design and manufacturing activities;
- Proven leadership and experience in technical coordination of engineering activities and subcontracting;
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
