Our client is a dynamic and growing general contracting firm known for delivering high-quality commercial and residential construction projects across Alberta. They are seeking a proactive, experienced Site Superintendent to lead day-to-day site operations and ensure construction projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage subcontractors and trades with professionalism and efficiency.What you will be doing:Lead all on-site activities and maintain consistent progress toward project milestones and performance targetsCollaborate with the Project Management and Estimating teams to resolve design, engineering, or construction issues before they impact the scheduleCoordinate, supervise, and inspect the work of all ACL staff and subcontractorsMaintain site safety in compliance with ACL’s safety protocols and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulationsPrepare daily site reports, safety documentation, and submit records to head office as requiredProvide orientations to new staff and subcontractors based on ACL’s safety programOversee site cleanliness, organization, and security, including lock-up procedures and after-hours access for tradesMonitor and approve on-site time tracking for ACL staffIdentify and report equipment needs, perform routine safety inspections, and ensure only trained personnel operate machineryAssist in training, mentoring, and skill development of site staffCoordinate manpower and equipment logistics to support company-wide objectivesSchedule and lead regular site meetings with subcontractors and office staffOrder and track materials, assist in identifying lead times, and maintain awareness of contract scope itemsReview workmanship quality, enforce contract compliance, and lead deficiency resolutionPromote a team-first mindset and represent ACL’s values on-site through leadership, accountability, and integrityWhat you must have:10+ years of hands-on construction experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership roleProficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawingsDeep understanding of Alberta Building Code and construction best practicesFamiliarity with a wide range of scopes including framing, rebar installation, concrete forming and finishing, siding systems, thermal and moisture protection systems, millwork, and interior/exterior finishingAbility to manage temporary utilities (power, heat, lighting, air circulation) for site setupExperience using surveying tools, setting anchor bolts, and interpreting elevationsEffective trade coordination, scheduling, and conflict resolution skillsStrong communication skills with owners, architects, consultants, and tradesProven track record of maintaining safety standards and leading toolbox talks and orientationsValid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstractAbility to travel or coordinate accommodations for out-of-town work if requiredPreferred AttributesPassion for teaching, mentoring, and growing othersStrong organizational and time management abilitiesWillingness to adapt, learn, and contribute to a growing and innovative teamSolution-focused mindset with the ability to anticipate problems and respond proactivelyLeadership presence that fosters respect, accountability, and team cohesionSalary/Rate Range: $110,000-$120,000Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
