In turn, we offer an award-winning environment that fosters a with a high priority on your personal and professional growth.Your OpportunityOur Wealth Management practice is looking for a Senior Financial Planner to join the team and own the following responsibilities:Responsibilities:Identify complex financial planning needs and solutions for clients by considering the client's wealth, life goals and other objectivesServe as a resource for clients with complex needs surrounding financial planning, investments, insurance, tax management, retirement analysis, estate planning, succession planning, etcDevelop recommendations and identify areas of opportunity to assist clients in achieving their financial goalsExecute the financial planning cycle by creating, editing and proofing financial plansExecute and manage the discovery and delivery process with clientsLiaise between investment dealers, accountants, lawyers and insurance professionalsOther Financial Planning tasks including but not limited to; meeting preparation, RRSP, RESP and TFSA account tracking, research assignments, preparing report packages and completing data entry in financial planning softwareHow do we define success for your role?You demonstrate BDO's core values through all aspect of your work: Integrity, Respect and CollaborationYou understand your client’s industry, challenges, and opportunities; clients describe you as positive, professional, and delivering high quality workYou identify, recommend, and are focused on effective service delivery to your clientsYou share in an inclusive and engaging work environment that develops, retains & attracts talentYou actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplaceYou grow your expertise through learning and professional development.Your experience and educationYou have completed your CFP designation; post-graduate diploma in Financial Planning or related discipline is considered a strong assetYou have completed your CPA designation; post-graduate diploma in accounting or related discipline is considered a strong assetYou have ideally 5-7 years of experience in the wealth/financial planning industryYou are inquisitive, have a curious attitude by continuously asking questions and looking for opportunities to make improvementsYou have strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work well independently with minimal supervisionYou display strong communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build rapport and trusting relationships with clientsYou ideally have experience utilizing planning software and are proficient with MS Office programs (especially Word and Excel); experience using TaxPrep software is an assetYou ideally have experience preparing financial plans with complex corporate and trust structuresAbility to work well independently with minimal supervision#LI-SSWhy BDO?Our people-first approach to talent has earned us a spot among .
