As the Senior HVAC Electrical Designer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing electrical systems for HVAC projects that meet client specifications and industry standards. Your responsibilities will include:- Develop detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts for HVAC systems using CAD and other design software.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
- Work closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, and contractors to coordinate electrical designs with other building systems.
- Review and integrate design changes, ensuring timely updates and clear communication across teams.
- Lead design reviews, provide technical guidance to junior team members, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Support project managers in troubleshooting design challenges and providing innovative electrical solutions to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
- Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine project deliverables.
- Maintain strong client relationships by delivering designs that align with their vision and operational needs.Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:- HVAC equipment unit experience is a MUST
- Previous experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and operator interface controllers is required.
- Familiarity of Canadian and US Codes and standards, such as NEC, CEC, NFPA70 is a strong asset.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the HVAC or building services industry.
- Experience with AutoCAD, must have an intermediate level or better
- Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices related to HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proactive approach to project challenges.
