- Design, develop, and update electrical schematics, layouts, loop diagrams, and Process and Instrumentation drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring control system documentation supports manufacturing and integration
- Design and implement new controls systems, including PLC/DCS programming HMI development and SCADA integration
- Design controls systems for the integration of customer supplied equipment
- Create, expand and maintain engineering standards and design libraries
- Develop extensive knowledge of product line, preferred practices, and all applicable industry standards
- Regularly communicate project status with key stakeholders
- Select appropriate instrumentation (eg. Transmitters, sensors, valves, actuators, etc.) based on process requirements and industry standards
- Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
- In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
- All other duties as assigned
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in automation or material handling
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical schematics and layouts
- Experience using SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of motors, motor control systems, and automation hardware
- Experience with custom automation, conveyors, or material handling systems (asset)
- Resourceful and results-driven with a focus on completing tasks on time and within budget
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication skills with the ability to work with engineering teammates and shop floor staff
