AIG prides itself as staying ahead of the curve and is looking for forward thinking and inventive underwriters to navigate a constantly changing global, economic and geopolitical landscape.In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and growing a profitable book of Casualty business, servicing an existing renewal portfolio, and generating new business opportunities. This role includes continuous interaction with national and regional brokers and partners, as well as collaboration with internal teams across Canada.You will gain exposure to a wide range of Casualty risks in the Environmental, Construction and Mining segments of our business.Duties and Responsibilities:Evaluate, prioritize and underwrite casualty submissions within delegated authority.Analyze claims data and quantify loss trends to support pricing decisions.Communicate risk appetite and casualty value proposition to brokers.Collaborate with distribution and other line(s) of business underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross selling opportunities from brokers.Work with brokers to understand deal structures, terms, and AIG Services that best meets clients’ needs.Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.Develop strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients to profitably grow a book of business.Responsible for maintaining risk selection in adherence with product guidelines and for achieving rate, renewal retention and new business goals.Ensuring all files are well documented and comply with corporate standards.Recognize and create cross-selling opportunities for other AIG General Insurance products.Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients.May require occasional travel to support broker and client relationship.Work with center of excellence and/or shared services on policy administration.What you’ll need to succeed:Bachelor’s degree from a college or university, preferred.Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.Experience with pollution liability, general liability, environmental exposures, or mining risks is a strong asset.Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.Very strong verbal and written communication skills.Highly motivated and results-oriented.Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Comfort with analytical tools and technology.A desire to stay up to date with industry, legal & regulatory trends.CIP designation is considered an asset.Ready to step up to new challenges?
