Collaborates with a cross-functional team of project management, technical, quality, finance and other key colleagues to prioritize sourcing initiatives, develops sourcing strategies, negotiates contracts, supports spend migration from incumbent to preferred suppliers, and manages preferred supplier relationships.What You Will Contribute:Team CollaborationCollaborate with the Marketing and Operations leadership to manage supply demands and inventory levels against the forecasts for standard product linesWork closely with the project teams to ensure material deliveries and sourced products are aligned to meet customer and quality expectationsActively participate in New Product Development & Introduction (NPDI) teams to help secure materials and vendor contractsProcurementMonitor market intelligence and key trends to refine buying plans to support business requirementsNegotiate pricing and supply contracts to ensure fair market value while protecting the company’s interestsAnalyze supplier performance data, propose development plans, and communicate supplier scorecardsManage inflation, sourcing savings, and purchased-part variances (PPV) to ensure operational goals are achievedMonitor and forecast upcoming levels of demandDetermine quantity and timing of deliveries to support project requirementsProvide material delivery status to the Operations team, and issue Work Orders to the floorManage and maintain supplier Non-Disclosure AgreementsContinuous ImprovementOur business is rapidly growing so it is vital that we continuously improve and advance the materials management processes and systems to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.How Will You Get Here?Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field5 years’ relevant procurement/sourcing experience in a project based or manufacturing environmentCSCP or SCMP designation is preferredAPICS preferredKnowledge & Skills:Solid understanding of buying strategies, supply chain processes, and inventory managementExcellent communication and negotiation skillsSound knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)Strong organizational and time-management skillsAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 125,000 outstanding minds has a unique story to tell.
