JSC is seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join our growing team. Reporting to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, the Shipper/Receiver will check shipments received against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders or any other related documents to ensure that discrepancies or damages are identified.The Shipper/Receiver position requires a 40-hour workweek, including mandatory shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The remaining 20 hours will be scheduled Monday through Friday in accordance with the rotating Shipping/Receiving schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesShipping (Outbound)Process and execute outbound shipments accurately and on timeVerify orders, quantities, part numbers, packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation to ensure 100% shipment accuracyPrepare bills of lading, packing slips, customs documentation, and other required carrier paperworkSchedule freight pickups and coordinate with carriers to ensure timely deliveryFollow customer routing guides and special handling instructionsProcess shipments using ERP and/or warehouse management systems (WMS)Maintain accurate shipment records including weights, dimensions, and freight classificationsProvide shipment tracking information to internal teams and customers as requiredAssist with prioritizing and expediting urgent or time-sensitive shipmentsInvestigate and report shipping discrepancies, damages, or delays to the SupervisorReceiving (Inbound)Receive incoming materials, components, and finished goodsVerify packing slips against purchase orders and confirm quantities and part numbersInspect incoming shipments for damage, shortages, or non-conformance and report issues to Quality or PurchasingAccurately enter receipts into ERP/WMS systemsLabel and properly store materials in designated warehouse locationsCoordinate with internal departments regarding material availability and discrepanciesSupport inventory accuracy through cycle counts and material verificationMaintain clear documentation of receiving transactions and discrepanciesSafely assist with the decanning and decoiling operations processGeneral Warehouse & Compliance ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload trucks safely and efficientlyOperate material handling equipment including forklifts (Counterbalance, Raymond Reach, Combi) as requiredMaintain accurate inventory locations and finished goods trackingFollow all Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements and company safety policiesPromote safe material handling practices and proper equipment operationMaintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving area in accordance with 5S standardsSupport continuous improvement and efficiency initiativesWork overtime as operational needs dictatePerform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED2–3 years of shipping and/or receiving experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environmentExperience using ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS)Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping proceduresExperience preparing shipping documentation and coordinating freight carriersForklift (Counterbalance, Raymond Reach, and/or Combi) and overhead crane experience requiredKnowledge of steel grades and steel customs documentation is an assetStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to follow procedures and work independently with minimal supervisionStrong commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality standards
