
Staff Product Manager, Thermostats

- Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive product strategy for our thermostat business, aligning with overall company goals.
- Define and prioritize product roadmap initiatives based on customer insights, market analysis, and business objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and inform product decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing) throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch.
- Define detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new devices and experiences.
- Ensure timely and high-quality product releases.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the energy and HVAC sectors.
- Develop a deep understanding of the smart home energy ecosystem, including generators, EV chargers, solar installations, and thermostats.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at partner organizations
- Identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities to enhance product offerings and expand market reach.
- Lead strategic planning and budgeting processes; collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, customer support) on business governance (e.g., monthly business reviews), and long-term planning (e.g., annual planning).
- Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the thermostat business.
- Contribute to the development of business cases and financial models for new product initiatives.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing complex products.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Passion for sustainability and the energy transition.
- Experience working with Mobile Applications.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques.
- Experience with hardware/software integrations.
- Experience with consumer-focused products.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of product management experience, preferably in the energy, smart home, HVAC, or IoT industries.
- A 30-minute phone/video call with a member in Talent Acquisition.
- A first round 60-minute virtual interview with the hiring manager - expect technical, behavioural and situational questions.
- The second round of interviews will be four 1:1s with cross functional leaders.
- If your second-round interview goes well, you can expect a take home case study, which you get a week to work on - you'll then come in virtually to present your solution to the team.
